We’re making the ultimate Easter candy chocolate dipped rice krispie treats…aka PeepTASTIC Krispie Treats!
We’ve shared our tips for making THE BEST rice krispie treats every time (I was making them wrong for years…but not anymore)…and NOW we are taking them to the next level adding crushed mini cadbury eggs, crushed malted milk chocolate eggs and PEEPS (of course)! Make someone’s day this Easter with one of these Easter Rice Krispie “Peeptastic” treats!
What you need to make Easter Rice Krispie Treats:
- butter
- rice krispie cereal
- mini marshmallows
- milk chocolate chips
- mini cadbury eggs
- malked milk chocolate eggs
- peeps marshmallow bunnies
How to make these Easter Rice Krispie Treats:
- Prepare the pan: Butter the sheet pan.
- Melt the butter: Melt the 1/2 stick of butter in a big pot on your stovetop.
- Mix with marshmallows: Add in the mini marshmallows and continually stir as they start to melt.
- Consistency: The consistency of the marshmallows should still be lumpy when the cereal goes into the pot.
- Add cereal: Dump in the cereal (don’t measure), continue stirring until well mixed together.
- Move the mixture to the pan: Transfer the treats to your buttered pan.
- Press down: Butter your (clean) fingers to pat the warm treats down into the pan OR use a sheet of parchment paper to press the sticky Rice Krispie Treats evenly into the sheet pan.
- Cut into squares: Butter your knife to cut the treats into squares. (or rectangles)
- Cut while warm: Cut the treats while they’re still warm.
- Cover: Cover with plastic wrap.
- Plan to cut: Cut out as many treats as you plan to dip into chocolate.
- Melt chocolate: Melt the milk chocolate chips.
- Add popsicle sticks: Insert a popsicle stick into each treat.
- Dip: Dip and cover with chocolate.
- Add the marshmallow Easter Bunny Peep: Place on a different sheet pan lined with parchment paper.
- Place peep: Place the front half of one Peeps bunny in the center of each chocolate dipped treat.
- Add candy: Sprinkle with crushed mini cadbury eggs and malted milk eggs.
- Freeze: Move sheet pan to the freezer for 10 minutes to let the chocolate cool and set.
- Eat: Enjoy!
How to store Peeptastic Krispie Treats:
Once your treats have cooled and set in the freezer, it is best to keep them stored in a cool area or in the fridge to prevent the chocolate from melting. Wrap up each treat that you plan to give in a clear plastic bag to keep them fresh. These will last around three days!

The perfect festive treat, Peeptastic Krispie Treats
Ingredients
- 1/2 stick of butter 1/4 cup
- 1/2 box of rice krispie cereal
- 1 1/2 bag mini marshmallows
- 1 bag milk chocolate chips
- 1 small bag mini cadbury eggs
- 1 small bag malted milk chocolate eggs
- Peeps marshmallow bunnies in a variety of colors
Instructions

Butter the sheet pan.

Melt the 1/2 stick of butter in a big pot on your stovetop.

Add in the mini marshmallows and continually stir as they start to melt.

Dump in the cereal (don't measure), continue stirring until well mixed together.
