Make a St. Patrick’s Day party candy bar.
We are a big fan of the mini candy bar, and by mini, I don’t mean “fun size”, although I do like those too (who doesn’t?!). By mini I mean small-ish apothecary jars with different types of candy, grouped together by color or in this case grouped together by holiday…St. Patty’s Day!
I used these same jars for Valentine’s Day and for my daughter’s butterfly birthday party. Sometimes apothecary jars can be too big, making them intimidating to fill because it would be too expensive to make it look good. That’s why the smaller sized jars are easy to fill. The only problem is that the candy goes fast. It was only the first weekend in March, and we are now left with just Laffy Taffys. 🙂
A fun thrift store find is any clear glass jar with a lid. There’s just something about glass that just makes whatever is inside more fancy. Glass containers, whether it’s an old mason jar or whatever, helps make the package pretty. Don’t you think?! The best part is that glass is cheap too!

– green apple gummy bears (Kyle’s favorite)
– peanut butter duets (aka peanut butter pillows – my favorite)
– Little Debbie kite brownies (Avery’s favorite)
– green laffy taffies
We stuck with the green – rainbow – gold theme, perfect for St. Patrick’s Day.
I finally took down my old spice rack that we got as a wedding gift, probably still had the same spices in them (yikes!), and I replaced it with this magnetic chalkboard. The chalkboard is a thrifted frame painted white and the center is sheet metal sprayed with chalkboard spray paint.
It will be a fun little spot to decorate for holidays.
Have you ever had this kind of candy? Peanut Butter Duets? They’re my favorite! You can only find them at the Cracker Barrel, so if we’re ever near one, you’ll have to try them!
To tie all these different containers together, I used the nesting clover cutting dies.
*Don’t forget to stop the ends of your ribbons from fraying by burning the edge with a flame.
