Ghost Suckers - Halloween Treats

Here’s a few last minute Halloween party and Halloween treat ideas that I thought would be fun for those of you still working on last minute things for Halloween.

Here’s a quick idea for the classic ghost suckers…try making them with coffee filters! Coffee filters are perfect for this! They are more durable to write on with a sharpie and they hold up better than a plain white tissue.

What you need to make Ghost Suckers for Halloween:

suckers: tootsie pops or blow pops …both work great for this.
rubberband elastics
white coffee filters
ribbon, baker’s twine
black sharpie

How to make Coffee Filter Ghost Suckers:

Using white coffee filters makes this old time craft so easy…no more tearing of paper tissues. If you’d like you can double up the coffee filters to make it more thick.
To start place the sucker or lollipop in the center of the coffee filter. With an elastic or a ribbon wrap the white coffee paper filter around the sucker. If you used an elastic, now cover the elastic with a decorative ribbon.
Finish off the ghost by drawing eyes and a mouth with a sharpie onto the white coffee filter paper.
That’s it…So easy! Now repeat these steps with as many ghost suckers or ghost lollipops as you’d like to make.

These kind of ghosts made with coffee filters are also really cute filled with cotton balls and strung together with string for a festive Halloween Ghost Banner. Just string them together from the top of the head of each ghost, not the bottom.

Here’s another simple idea…make waxed paper spiderwebs.

Waxed paper spider webs are so simple to make. They make a festive doily (if you will), on any dark plate that you are serving Halloween treats on.
To make a waxed paper spider web, you will need:
-waxed paper
-scissors
-wooden skewer
-plastic cutting board

First start by tearing off about a square size of waxed paper. Fold it in half. Fold it in half again in the opposite direction. Fold it in half diagonally, and in half again diagonally, kind of like you are making paper snowflakes. Then make a cut at the wide end like an inward half circle (not a straight line). Then take your wooden skewer and make spider web lines between the straight lines. Pressing hard as you go. Go over the lines back and forth to make it show.
