Serve up some gourmet lemonade.
We are living up our last days of Summer, packin’ them in. One of the things on my forever…someday I’ll get to it…Summer Bucket List is to help the kids with a Lemonade Stand. But not just any lemonade stand, a really cute one.
I had even blogged about lemonade stand ideas a few years ago, but have just never made the lemonade stand of my dreams come true. Sure we have had little lemonade stands here and there, but nothing really to share here. Until this little red cart came into my life.
Isn’t it fun?! What is it about carts? I have a thing for carts. Once you add wheels to something, it instantly becomes cute. I’m always on the hunt for a vintage cart at the thrift stores, but they are hard to come by. That’s why I was thrilled to find this fun cart on Create-ologie, a fun site to shop online that’s filled with so many great products, like my little red cart.
Okay, let’s talk about these lemonades. To start, I used these big mason jars and a skinny ladle to serve them. These jars fit great on the cart. The lemonades are all made with fresh fruit, although I used a few short cuts. I used a lemonade powder mix, along with water, crushed pebble ice and fresh fruit and I blended them in my blender. Sort of like frozen lemonades. After blended, they all tend to settle a bit, but you can stir them around with the ladle when you’re serving.
To label all the different lemonades, I used yellow striped washi tape.
All the lemonades were so good, but the raspberry lemonade was a hit with the kids,
and we LOVED the peach lemonade too. Fresh Brigham City peaches and a few frozen blueberries made it so good. On the bottom shelf of the cart, we had a big bowl of pebble ice for each lemonade.
On the second row down, we have cookies! Store bought cookies…keepin’ it real here, folks. It was between the lemonades or the cookies, and the lemonades won.
On the very bottom shelf, we had candy, a big bowl of ice and straws. The simple banners were made using yellow scrapbook paper and mailbox stickers. I had them all laminated so that we could use them again and again.
Avery loved it! She’s at such a fun age for things like this.
It was a fun afternoon with all of her sweet friends on the street.
