When it comes to Easter, I love to bring carrots and bunnies into the decor whenever possible. You might remember my DIY carrot cupcake toppers from last year. Well this year, it’s carrot confetti eggs!
Easter Egg Ideas with Sharpies
Decorating Easter Eggs can be as simple as grabbing a sharpie! The art work can be simple and in this case repetitive with the same pattern all over.
I love the idea of confetti as a way to celebrate, and I thought little carrot confetti would be fun, and I thought I’d start with the Easter Eggs. My first attempt in making these, I used 3D puff paint and although I liked the look, I didn’t have the patience for the dry time, especially because I wanted the look all over the entire eggs.
Easter Egg Sharpie Designs
You really can get creative with using a sharpie to decorate Easter Eggs. Just think of it as drawing and coloring on a round object rather than a flat piece of paper.
After the 3D puff paint wasn’t the method of choice, I moved onto using an orange sharpie and it worked great! To make sure the carrots are evenly spaced all around the egg, I made tiny dots all over the eggs and then used the dots to begin coloring all the carrots. I didn’t have a green sharpie, so I ended up using a green colored pencil for the green part of the carrot, and I love how they turned out.

You might be wondering if it is okay or safe to eat a hard boiled egg that has sharpie ink on the outside shell. If you really want to play it safe you can decorate the egg shell after you blow out the uncooked egg. If you do color on the shell of a hard boiled egg, you probably should not eat the egg in these shell.
I think this bunny likes them. 😉 (faces are so hard to draw)
Anyway…just one more way to decorate Easter Eggs.
