Back to School 2015
It’s that time of year again…back to school time! Either you love it or you hate it. I feel both every year. Always so sad to say goodbye to the warm happy days of Summer, but also ready for scheduled days. The older I get as a mom, I’m usually ready for a routine again. We have some big change this year, my girl is headed to Junior High! Oh heaven help us. She’s going to a great school and I know she will love it, I’m just not ready for this! This year we have a 7th grader and a second grader. I know it will be a great year for both of them.
In keeping with tradition, we took some fun Back to School photos. Oh how I love these two, and feel so blessed to be their mom.
Avery was so excited to go back to school shopping this year, since it was her first year to not have to wear a uniform…can you tell?!
Here’s my low budget photo tips are you ready?! Take your photos in your garage!
Our home faces North and our drive way acts like a big light reflector sending great light into our garage. I painted a big 4ftx8ft MDF board with black chalkboard paint for the back drop. I just prop it up vertical and we are good to go! Easy right?! Nothing fancy, just maybe your camera.
I love fun ways to display the grade they’re going into each year. A giant eraser works great! Just snap your photos and add the text later digitally with a photo editing app.
This girl is crazy for her dog…we all are really. Our Tubby Boy!
…and my boy….my sweet toothless Second Grade Boy. Someone once told me to get as many hugs as you can when your boys are little, because soon enough they’ll be too cool for it all. So I’ve been doing just that. Don’t get me wrong, he can be a stinker (they both can!), but he can be the biggest sweetheart too.
Watch out Second Grade! Here he comes!
