Make Piggy Ice Cream Cones!
One of our favorite movies from last year is finally in stores now on Blu-Ray and DVD…it’s SING! It’s the cutest animated movie filled with cute characters singing music we all know and love. It’s a funny, heartwarming film with great music and a fantastic cast. In partnership with Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, I’m excited to share these cute piggy ice cream cones for a family movie night treat to celebrate SING Special Edition release.
This treat is inspired by my favorite character in SING: Rosita the Pig. Rosita is really someone I could identify with…she’s the stay at home mom to way too many piglets to count, and she dreams of singing on the big stage. Okay so I don’t dream of singing on the big stage, but I totally get the stay at home mom thing…only with way less piglets. 😉 Reese Witherspoon is the voice of Rosita, which made me love her even more, plus I love all the songs she sings in the movie!
Ingredients to make these cute piggy ice cream cones at home, here’s what you need:
-raspberry sherbet
–white candy melts
–red candy melts
-marshmallows
-mini chocolate chips
-sugar cones
-sprinkles
-parchment paper
-plastic wrap
-tooth picks
How to make Piggy Ice Cream Cones
-Scoop big scoops and small sized scoops of the raspberry sherbet and wrap them up individually in plastic wrap. Once wrapped in the plastic wrap, use your hands to compress and shape the scoop into a perfect round ball of ice cream. Place them in the freezer while you work.
-In a glass bowl melt a few red and white candy melts in the microwave until warm and melty. Mix the red and white together to make pink.
-Cut the marshmallows in half. Dip the marshmallows into the warm candy melts and completely coat. Place coated marshmallows on the parchment paper to cool and dry completely.
-Now make the pink candy ears, take a small spoon and add a little bit of the candy melts onto the parchment paper in the shape of an ear. Make as many ears as you will need, and let them cool and dry.
To make the marshmallow look like a pig nose, you will need to melt a few mini chocolate chips in the microwave glass bowl. With a toothpick, dot two round dots of melted chocolate onto the pink marshmallow.
-This is optional, but if you’d like, you can add a ring of candy melts along with sprinkles to the top rim of the sugar cone.
Now you are ready to assemble. Place the scoop onto the cone gently pressing down. To help hold the piggy nose on, poke a small toothpick into the back side of the coated marshmallow half and gently press the toothpick into the ice cream scoop. Add the candy ears and two mini chocolate chips for the eyes. If you are making a double decker piggy cone, you might want to add another toothpick to secure the top scoop to the bottom scoop. Just be sure to let whoever is eating it know that there are toothpicks in the ice cream before consuming. That’s it! Enjoy your Piggy Ice Cream Cone…your Rosita the Pig Ice cream Cone!
I hope you are as excited as we are about this fun family flick! Pick up a copy of the SING Special Edition Blu-ray in stores for your next family movie night.

Fun Fact about SING, it was a Golden Globe nominee for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song, it also features more than 65 hit songs including ‘Faith,’ a brand new song by the legendary Stevie Wonder (featuring Ariana Grande), marking it his first song for a major film release in 25 years.
If you have yet to see SING, here’s a little more:
From Illumination, the studio that brought you The Secret Life of Pets and the Despicable Me franchise, comes an animated comedy about finding the music that lives inside all of us. SING stars Academy Award® winner Matthew McConaughey as Buster Moon, an eternally optimistic koala who puts on the world’s greatest singing competition to save his crumbling theater; Academy Award® winner Reese Witherspoon as Rosita, an overworked and unappreciated mother of 25 piglets desperate to unleash her inner diva; Scarlett Johansson as Ash, a punk rock porcupine with a beautiful voice behind her prickly exterior; Taron Egerton as Johnny, a young gangster gorilla looking to break free of his family’s felonies; as well as Seth MacFarlane, John C. Reilly, and Grammy Award-nominated Tori Kelly. SING is the musical comedy event of the year!
