Handmade Father's Day Card

Here’s a simple handmade card for your Dad…the golfer.

If your Dad is a golfer, this easy Father’s Day card will be perfect for him!
My dad is a golfer… but how could he not be a golfer with a name like Tee? (I love my Dad’s name.)
One of my least favorite things to do is trying to find the perfect Father’s Day card. It might be that I have been surprised with one too many with words on the inside like BEER(!) or FART(!) (I know! I hate that word.) Or worse, being crowded in with all the last minute shoppers standing next to one who might smell like… 😉 I think that is when I decided to start making my own cards. I have a lot more control over the whole situation.

A few years back, Shannon Barnes of Flaunt Cards demonstrated on the Martha Stewart show how to make her darling Flaunt cards. I fell in love with the simplicity of these cards and with the fuzzy detail of the torn mulberry paper that’s used. You must see the whole collection HERE. (darling)
To make these cards, you need Mulberry paper and 3-D fabric paint.

You might be wondering what Mulberry paper is exactly, it’s a type of paper also known as Japanese Paper. When it’s torn, it looks fuzzy, which is what makes each card so cute.
Okay, Here is the step by step for this little Father’s Day Card.

1. Cut away a piece of green.
2. Cut away a triangle piece of red.
3. Tear away around the green piece creating a fuzzy edge effect.
4. Glue it down
5. Draw a black line with a fine point sharpie… glue down the red flag.
6. Use black 3-D fabric paint for the hole.
While you’re at it, go ahead and make three. Or better yet, make six! They won’t notice if they get the same card for two years straight. 😉 Or at least I hope they don’t.

Step #37 D. – give them to the three Dad’s in your life: his, mine and ours.
