Wishing you all a Happy Mother’s Day.
For years I have struggled with Mother’s Day. You either love it, or you don’t…Ha! For me it’s complicated…it’s a combinations of unmet expectations (my poor husband) and always feeling incomplete (with the loss of our daughter…Mother’s Day can be hard sometimes), and I know I’m not alone. It’s a special day and a hard day for so many.
The key for me to find joy on Mother’s Day is to turn my thoughts outward. Like calling or texting a friend who might be missing their own mom on Mother’s Day, or celebrating “the village” that helps lighten your load as a mom over the year, or just enjoying time with family or friends that feel like family. We have all been so blessed by so many who mother in different ways, and I’m so thankful for it.
We made a simple flower arrangement for my mom with my most favorite flowers: RANUNCULUS. I love them so much…all those beautiful layers. A simple tin can for a vase, spray painted for a POP of color is so easy and super cute! Hang onto those tall empty cans for this simple DIY project.
To those who have lost children, who have lost mothers, to those with strained mother relationships or strained child relationships, to those who chose not to be a mother and those still yearning to be a mother. Our hearts are with you on Mother’s Day, may you find the joy and love in this day that you seek.
