Celebrate Valentine’s Day with a “Heart-y” Breakfast for the ones you love.
Happy almost Valentine’s Day! Sending you love the best way I know how…with food. Because what better way to say “I love you” than with a ‘heart-y’ breakfast of crispy bacon, warm cinnamon rolls and fresh strawberries. I’m all about modern day convenience when it works, so pick up a can of cinnamon rolls, bacon and a package of strawberries and give the day a sweet start.
Here’s a little video we made for fun to show you how it all comes together.
Bacon is a love language in itself, but bake it in the oven in the shape of a heart, and what more could you love?! To help the bacon take shape, cut each strip of bacon in half to make it easier to fold into the shape of a heart.
To make oven bacon, start by covering a big sheet pan with two layers of tinfoil for the easiest cleanup ever!
How to make heart shaped bacon:
To make bacon hearts, you’ll need to fold the bacon strips gently into the shape of a heart.
Preheat your oven to 400 and bake for 25-30 minutes or until crispy. You might need more or less time depending on your oven, just watch it to make sure you don’t burn the bacon. It can change pretty quick.
Grab your tiniest heart shaped cookie cutter, slice fresh strawberries in half and press the cookie cutter down to make little strawberry hearts. You could also use a shape knife to do this or just skip this step, because strawberries are already in a natural heart shape.
Grab a can of cinnamon rolls from the grocery store, bake as directed. While warm, top with frosting a sprinkle of micro heart sprinkles.
I love it when just a few extra steps with attention to detail can really add a little extra love without taking up much time or expense.
I hope you all enjoy the day with the ones you love!
Happy Valentine’s Day!
