It’s dangerously easy to make chocolate covered saltine cracker toffee.
When it comes to things you have on hand in your kitchen, like: butter, brown sugar, saltine crackers and chocolate chips, chances are you probably have all of them. Now you are in big trouble with this info, because you can make cracker toffee all the time. Sorry not sorry.
Cracker Toffee recipe:
Cracker toffee has been around for so long, but to make it well you need good ingredients. There’s just four ingredients but the right brands can make a difference. For saltine crackers we love Zesta Brand. When it comes to chocolate chips, Guittard brand for both semi sweet and milk chocolate chips cannot be beat. We also added a drizzle of bright white candy melts, but this is optional and it just adds a decorative touch. You can also add salted chopped pecans onto the chocolate if you’d like too.
Cracker Toffee also called Christmas Crack:
There’s so many different names for this cracker toffee, and so many variations on the recipe too. It’s sometimes called Christmas Crack as in it’s as addictive as crack cocaine or is the name because it’s made with crackers? 😉 Anyway, you can really get creative with the way it is topped. You can add peanut butter mixed in with the chocolate for a chocolate peanut butter marble effect, you can also top it with nuts or candy like mini M&Ms or toffee bits. The options are endless.
