Easy and healthy carrot fries.
Have you ever made sweet potato fries at home in your oven? How about carrot fries?? You’ve got to try it! It’s one of our favorite ways to eat carrots. They’re such a healthy and colorful alternative to regular fries. Try roasting them in your oven at a high temperature to get that delicious caramelization that adds so much flavor.
What you need to make Carrot Fries:
- carrots
- olive oil
- salt and pepper
- additional seasoning (optional)
How to make Carrot Fries:
- Preheat: preheat your oven to 425 degrees.
- Cut: slice the carrots into thin “fry” like pieces, trying to keep them all in similar sizes.
- Bake: bake on a big baking pan lined with parchment paper.
- Season: toss the carrot sticks in olive oil and season well with salt, pepper and (if you’d like) your favorite seasonings.
- Bake: spread the carrot sticks out on your baking pan and bake. Bake for about 20 minutes rotating, and tossing the carrot fries over for even baking.
How to store Carrot Fries:
Keep your extra fries stored in an air tight container in the fridge for up to three days. Just pop them back into the oven or air fryer when you’re ready to serve again!
Best veggies for fries:
We love using carrots to make fries because they turn out crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. You can also use this same method with so many different vegetables too, like green beans, zucchini, and peppers.
Carrot fries in the oven vs. air fryer:
You can use either the oven or an air fryer to make these carrot fries. If you have an air fryer and want to use that, just bake them in batches at 400 degrees for around 15-20 minutes tossing every five minutes.
Dips for carrot fries:
We can all admit that the best part about fries is dipping them into delicious sauces! Some of our favorites are homemade ketchup, ranch, or roquefort dressing. Any of your favorite sauces will taste great with these fries!
