Easy Candy Buffet for the 4th of July.
I have a thing for candy buffets when it comes to parties and holidays. It’s like I’m the kid ‘with’ the candy store (tee-hee). Anywho, here’s a fun and easy DIY for a candy buffet that you could easily pull off before the 4th.
The best part is that it doubles as festive decor too! You could make this project more permanent by using glass etching cream or a glass specific paint. I chose to use white acrylic water based paint with the thought that I can easily wash the paint off if I choose to use these containers for something else after the holiday. So here’s what you’ll need:
– inexpensive glass vases or jars (I found these at Michaels with a coupon…of course)
– simple letter stickers
– blue painters tape
– a paint brush
– white acrylic paint (or etching cream, or glass paint)
– your favorite red, white and blue candies
To start, just eyeball the edge of the tape to match up with the edge of the glass. Run two rows of the tape on top and bottom depending on how thick you’d like the width of the paint to be. Now just eyeball the letter stickers in the center of the rows of tape.
Once dry just peel off the stickers and the tape and try not to worry about any imperfections. They just add to the charm of this project.
This is a fun craft to do with the kids, because you basically just paint in between the lines.
Then just fill with your favorite red white and blue candies, and you’re set!
The fun part is getting creative with the words and the candies. This craft would be a fun birthday party craft idea too.
I hope you all have fun and festive 4th!
I have a few more fun ideas for you. I’m such a sucker for the 4th. It’s the best!
