The most easy guacamole recipe there is…smooth, creamy, simple and delicious.
Easy Guacamole Recipe
This guac recipe is so easy it literally can be made in just a few minutes. It’s made with 3 avocados, but you can easily make it with more or less. This is one of those simple recipes where you adjust the seasoning to your preference. We recently shared a recipe for guacamole that we also love, but when it comes to fast easy and simple guacamole this recipe is our favorite.
Trouble Shooting Guacamole:
-Guac too salty? Add more avocado. If you don’t have another ripe avocado, add more lime juice. The citrus can reduce the saltiness.
-Guac too much lime? You can add a little bit of sugar to calm down the tartness… about 1/2 teaspoon
Can avocados be kept in the fridge?
YES, but only once they have reached peak ripeness. Once your avocados are ripe, AND you are not ready to eat them just yet, you can keep them in the fridge to slow the ripening. They will keep in the fridge for another 3-5 days. This is a great way to keep avocados at peak ripeness without letting them go bad.
How to choose a good avocado:
Honestly I often choose underripe avocados and plan for them to ripening at room temp on the kitchen countertop. Just choose an avocado that is firm.
What you need to make easy guacamole:
-avocados
-salt
-lime juice
-green mild taco sauce (We like LaVictoria Brand, but what ever you prefer)
How to make easy guacamole:
Slice each avocado into chunks and add to a mixing bowl.
Add the salt, lime juice and green taco sauce to the avocado.
With a metal whisk mash the avocados with the other ingredients until combined.
Enjoy with tortilla chips.
How to Keep Guacamole from Turning Brown:
Once you’ve made your guacamole, the citrus in the lime juice will help keep the avocados green and from turning brown. If you don’t plan to eat it right away and you would like to make the guacamole ahead of time, you can cover with plastic wrap and press the plastic wrap down onto the top of the guacamole to keep it air tight and fresh.
-Another method is to cover the top of your guacamole with a thin layer of water. This water method works like the plastic wrap also keeping the avocados from turning brown. When ready to serve, just dump out the water and refresh the guacamole with a mix of a fork.
