Happy Halloween! Here’s our costumes this year.
Avery this year…wanted to be scarecrow –
Kyle and I aren’t much into the whole costume thing the older we get. We did however dress up this week for a Murder Mystery party we went to on Monday Night, which was so fun! As of last week, both of my kids had not yet decided on their costumes – can you say last minute?! Yikes! So I’ve been scrambling.
The makeup is my favorite part.
I searched high and low for overalls. Even with talk that overalls are coming back in style, they were hard to come by. I eventually found a 3T little girls overall dress with Disney Princesses on it at the thrift store and I had my lady (the lady who sews stuff for us) add another denim skirt to it to make it longer. Then we added patches to hide the princesses and another patch on the behind.
The plaid fabric around her neck and for the patches are from a pair of boxer shorts.
It all came together great for a last-minute-throw-it-together kind of costume.
As for little Aiden, he wanted to be a doctor. A pretty dashing little doctor, I must say. “The Doctor is in.”
His costume came together great too, thanks to my gal who sews. Gosh I need to learn to sew.
For his costume, I found adult sized scrubs and a white coat, and she fixed them to fit him. The little head mirror is a pocket mirror hot glued onto black stretchy elastic.
It adds a nice touch, don’tcha think? 😉
He looked so cute at our church party last night next to his little Frankenstein friend.
Because I love looking back, here’s all of Aiden’s costumes through the years:
2008 – pea in a pod
2009 – itty bitty spider
2010 – Brobee from Yo Gabba Gabba
2011 – The Fire Chief
2012 – A Race Car Driver
2013 – A Doctor
Here’s all of Avery’s costumes through the years:
2003 – a ladybug
2004 – a pumpkin
2005 – a bumblebee
2006 – a cowgirl
2007 – TinkerBelle
2008 – a princess (with a pea)
2009 – a witch
