I wanted to wish you all a Happy Halloween (a little early)!
We celebrated Halloween a little early with our annual church Halloween Trunk OR Treat. I had to share our costumes this year, because I’m still crackin’ up just thinking about it. For 10 years my “Not a Big Fan of Halloween” Husband has been off the hook when it comes to dressing up in a costume for Halloween, but this year, he gave me the green light, and I went all out! (wink)
We went all out as the SEXY LEG LAMP in the classic Christmas movie: A Christmas Story. FRA-GI-LE….
It seriously was the best. Having him be the lamp made everyone laugh. If you can make people laugh with your costume, it’s a success!
He even helped me with a little of the DIY.
Fragile Leg Lamp Costume cost breakdown:
If you think your special guy needs to be the SEXY LEG LAMP for Halloween too, I have the cost break down of the costume for you:
- giant lamp shade from the thrift store – $4
- black tassel trim from the fabric store – $13
- fishnet tights from the costume store – $4
- large women’s high heels from the thrift store – $7
- *optional: gold foil mesh fabric to cover the lamp shade – $11
- *paint stir sticks to make a fragile sign: $2
- Black Suspenders: borrowed
- Crutches for balance: borrowed
It was about $30 (plus a little more if you opt for the gold fabric to hot glue onto the lamp shade. Not bad for a costume that will be a hit for years! We already have friends asking to borrow it for Halloween parties coming up. It’s a keeper! And I mean c’mon with that sexy leg! 😉
I hope you all have a Happy and Safe Halloween!
