DIY Green Lawn Mixture.
Our neighbor shared these homemade lawn mixtures to help green up your lawn with us last summer, and they have worked magic for our lawn. A few have asked for these lawn mixtures recently, so I’m sharing them here. So far we have only tried the first one: the lawn green up mixture, but that one alone, made our petunias go crazy last summer. They were gorgeous!
Homemade Recipes to Green Up Your Lawn:
- Lawn Green Up
- 1 Can of Beer
- 1 Can of Coke (regular Coke, not diet)
- 1 Cup of Ammonia
- 1/2 Cup of Antiseptic Mouthwash
- 1/2 Cup of Lemon scented Dish Soap
- Apply: every 3 weeks @ 2 oz. per gallon of water – using the ortho hose-end sprayer.
- Insect Control
- 1 Cup of Diazanon
- 1 Cup of Chewing Tobacco Juice
- 1 Cup of Antiseptic Mouthwash
- 1/2 Cup of Lemon scented Dish Soap
- Top off Sprayer with Warm Water
- Apply: every 2 weeks @ 1 1/2 TSP. per gallon or water – using the Ortho hose-end sprayer.
- Flower Bed Soil Prep
- 1 Can of Beer
- 1 Can of Coke (regular Coke, not diet)
- 1 Cup of Antiseptic Mouthwash
- 1/2 Cup of Lemon scented Dish Soap
- 1/4 tsp. Instant Tea
- That’s it! You’ll have to give them a try!
- Apply: In the Spring @ 2 oz. per gallon of water – using the Ortho hose-end sprayer. Repeat this treatment one week later.
