She’s off to kindergarten.
It’s official, our girl is growing up way too fast. Yesterday Avery had her first day of Kindergarten. Since she didn’t start until noon, we decided to visit her Dad at his office and feed the ducks, oh yeah and show off her little uniform with her giant backpack. She had a great first day! She came home buzzing about everything, including the fact that there was garbage in her new backpack (Whoops…guess I forgot to pull the brown paper out). We are thrilled about her teacher this year. I really thought that I would be a basket case about now, but I think the last two years of preschool have made me realize that it is just three hours a day and that next year at this time is when I will be a wreck. I think the hardest part is when I pick her up and see fifth graders on cell phones and then I want to say “Not yet…just let her stay little!”
Her little brother is super excited for her, but I think he is more excited about being her errand running replacement.
