Earlier this month, I had the opportunity to attend the Michaels Creative Crew event hosted by Michaels in Dallas Texas.
It was such an exciting two days that I’m thrilled to share here. Here is a bit of the behind the scenes look at a fun two days.
Once we landed in Dallas, we had a limo ride from the airport to the Gaylord Texan Hotel. Cindy from Skip To My Lou was the first to greet us on the limo. No matter how old I get, a limo ride will always be so exciting. You should have heard us all giggling about it. 🙂
We stayed at the beautiful Gaylord Texan. I had stayed at the Gaylord in Nashville for Blissdom Conference back in January. These hotels are giant beautiful hotels! It was so fun to stay there.
When we arrived to our rooms, there was a “Welcome Package” full of craft supplies including a box of Sprinkles cupcakes. It was so nice!
We all met for dinner at the Gaylord Texan’s restaurant Zeppole. The food was excellent!
Before dinner we had time for chatting with the Michaels Creative Team and all the creative bloggers. Here I am trying to master the “one armed self portrait” with Cindy of Skip to My Lou and Amy of Living Locurto.
There we go…I got one good one (sort of – wink wink) with Jo, Jen and Amy.
Here is a photo of all the Michaels Team along with all the creative bloggers who attended:
It was fun to meet all the bloggers that attended!

Before dinner started, we got to learn all about felting from Jo and Kathy Kromer two of the best on Michaels Creative Team. We each felted a small canvas tote bag. It was fun to just chat and craft together.
Here is Amy Locurto and Kelly from Make Grow Gather and Amy Atlas felting at my table. If you have never tried felting before, I highly recommend it! You must try it with the multi-needle tool for faster felting. It makes it so much more fast and fun. Here I am using that tool:
Dinner was so good. I ordered the filet for dinner and the Tiramisu for dessert. (I had to share the most important details of the night.
During dinner, we got to hear from Tiffany Windsor and hear about the history of Crafting. Her mother Aleene Jackson (as in Aleene’s Tacky Glue) was a pioneer in the crafting industry.
Tune in tomorrow for Day 2 of this fun event where we craft up a storm, and visit the Michaels Headquarters.
Here are a bunch more photos from the first day:
*In full disclosure, Michaels Craft Stores did pay for my travel and accommodations for this two day trip. I am in no way obligated to mention this event here, I just wanted to let Michaels know how much I enjoyed this event. All these opinions are %100 my own.
*Also thank you to the nice people at Empower Media Marketing who were so great to work with.
