We’re so excited for the new Minions Movie that hits theaters July 10th (this Friday!). To celebrate the new movie coming out, we hosted a little Minions Party of our own. We teamed up with Universal Pictures to share a few fun and new party ideas to help you with your next birthday party or backyard bash.
Universal Pictures sent over a fun box of Minion party favors for our party guests. Just the sticker on the outside of the box made us all excited to see what was inside!
Inside was everything Minion and yellow…like Minion Beach Towels, Minion BeachBalls, Minion Sunglasses, Minion Play-Doh sets and more!
Here’s a fun Minions Party idea that you can do yourself. Using clear plastic tubes and clear plastic packaging and candy like gumballs and sixlets candy, you can make them into little Minion candy treats.
I found these narrow clear plastic sleeves at my local party store, and the small yellow gumballs fit perfectly inside.
For those of you into Paper Crafts, I used silver metallic paper to make the tiny minion goggles. Black ribbon wrapped around to look like the goggles along with white and black card stock to make the Minion eyeballs. To make these tiny Minion goggles, I used the nesting circle cutting dies and ran them through the CuttleBug tool. I then used circle paper punches and hole punches.
I love how they turned out. Here’s one with yellow sixlets in a clear tube.
Or the yellow gum balls in the plastic sleeve with one sneaky Minion eyeball.
You can get creative with these and make a bunch of different options.
They looked darling in a big mason jar on the party table.
Another fun party idea is to use things like paper plates to decorate the treat table for the party. In the box of everything Minion, there were small yellow dessert plates and a package of paper Minion goggles. I used the two together to make the fun party backdrop.
Have you seen these big tissue paper puff ball decorations? I never really know where to hang them, so I used a few of the layers of the tissue paper and layered it behind the Minion eyeball for the center focal point of the wall. I love using my low temp hot glue gun for projects like this.
We couldn’t have a Minion Party and not get dressed up like Minions?! I found some Minion Goggle glasses that were perfect. To keep things simple, denim overalls, yellow t-shirts and yellow bandanas along with the goggle glasses and we were set!
We played a little guessing game with these little Minion Construction Hats.
“pin the Goggles on the Minion” game. Game Printable found here.
We had a blast getting excited for the new movie, and we hope you do too!
