Make patriotic ice cream sandwiches!
It’s that time of year when we love to make festive food for the 4th…or Memorial Day. This idea is so simple, and one the kids will love to help out with. Mini Patriotic Ice Cream Sandwich Cakes!
We’ve made red white and blue strawberries before, but this time rather than dipping the entire strawberries, try slicing them up and drizzle them with melted white chocolate and sprinkle with blue colored sugar crystals. Don’t they look cute?! They look like little red white and blue hearts. You could serve these up as is, or add them on top of your favorite sugar cookie…
Or use them to help decorate these fun mini ice cream sandwich cakes!
We used FatBoy Ice Cream Sandwiches…they’re the best!! They’re made right here in Utah too. We used one regular size square sandwich and one mini sized sandwich. Stack the mini on top to create a little tiered cake. If you cut the mini in half, you can add fresh berries inside. We then placed the red white and blue strawberries around the base of the bottom ice cream sandwich. So easy and so festive! Stick a lit sparkler in the top or a little flag toothpick to top it off.
It makes a festive treat to celebrate the 4th of July! We hope you enjoy them as much as we did!
