Make a shiny metallic Red, White and Blue USA banner for the 4th of July.
The patriotic decor is up at my house! I love to leave it up from before Memorial Day until after July 25…about two months or so. Those three colors together just make me happy. They make me think of BBQs, parades, road trips and lots of family time making memories together. I made a simple red, white and blue U.S.A. banner that I’m excited to share with you today. I used my current favorite crafting tool the new MINC foil applicator by Heidi Swapp. It’s like a big laminator on steroids that adds pretty colored foil to anything that can run through it.
Basically it will add foil to any design with toner ink on it, and the colored foil will stick to. Here’s the finished banner on my mantle. It’s hard to capture the shine of the pretty foil in the light on my mantle.
Along with the Minc machine, there are so many beautiful colors of foil to really get creative.
To make this fun banner, I used the Minc Jumbo letters for the U.S.A. along with the Minc banners.
I ran one banner and one letter through the machine with each color of foil: RED – silver (WHITE) – BLUE.
Once all the letters and banners have the colored foil, I just used glue dots to stick them all together like one piece and more glue dots onto the banners to hang on a string…really simple.
I really like how it turned out.
Then I just hung it in my entry way where I have a bunch of red, white and blue decor.
I also printed a few of my favorite 4th of July photos from years past. It’s a fun way to welcome people into our home with a little nod to one of our favorite holidays: The 4th of July!
In the center of the big frame is the Unique Flag print with Minc foil on it that I shared last month with you.
That’s it! Do you love making decor for the 4th?
The Minc starter kit and accessories are available at Amazon, Hobby Lobby and Jo-Ann, along with a number of local stores and online shops. There are many ways to apply foil to your projects, but the easiest and most convenient way is my using the Minc.
