Christmas Rice Krispie Treats!
Christmas Break will be here before we know it, and I’m trying to plan ahead for the days when the kids are home, and you just can’t go wrong with hands-on edible treats they can decorate. These rice krispie treat tree pops are just that! Following the recipe and tips from these no fail rice krispie treats, you just need a few more things to make these sweet treats.
What you need to make Rice Krispie Treat Tree Pops:
- butter
- Rice Krispies cereal
- mini marshmallows
- cookie cutters
- green food coloring
- mini M&Ms
- lollipop sticks
- melted white chocolate chips
- sprinkles
How to make Rice Krispie Treat Tree Pops:
- Prepare dish: Butter the dish.
- Melt butter: Melt the 1/2 stick of butter in a big pot on your stovetop.
- Add marshmallows: Add in the mini marshmallows and continue stirring as they start to melt.
- Consistency: The consistency of the marshmallows should still be lumpy when the cereal goes into the pot.
- Add cereal: Dump in the cereal (don’t measure), continue stirring until well mixed together.
- Transfer to dish: Transfer the treats to your buttered dish.
- Pat down: Butter your (clean) fingers to pat the warm treats down into the pan. Or use a piece of parchment between the treats and your hands to gently press the treats into the pan.
- Cut into shape: Cut your treats using a Christmas tree mold, or if you don’t have one, just cut into triangles with a buttered knife.
- Decorate: Add your candy, drizzle your white chocolate, and dump your sprinkles to make your rice krispie treat festive and pretty.
How to store Rice Krispie Treat Tree Pops:
Store these treats wrapped in plastic wrap at room temperature. They will stay good for around 5 days!
Gifting Rice Krispie Treat Tree Pops:
These Rice Krispie Treats are perfect for gifting around the holidays! Just wrap them up all cute in a plastic sack and add a Printable Christmas Tag! You could even grab some inexpensive plastic cookie cutters at the store and wrap up the cookie cutter with the treat. If you make a big batch, you can have some to keep and some to give. Everyone will love them!
Cutting out Rice Krispie Treat Tree Pops:
To cut out these treats, you will want to use a buttered mold or knife to insure you get a clean cut. If you don’t have access to a tree mold, just cut the treats into triangles and it will work just fine!
Decorating Rice Krispie Treat Tree Pops:
Once you have cut your Rice Krispie Treats, you will first add your M&Ms with a dab of white chocolate to stick. Next, you can drizzle melted white chocolate over the top. Finally, if you’re feeling festive, sprinkle on some holiday sprinkles for the finishing touch. They will turn out adorable!
