Santa Minions and Despicable Me 3

We are thrilled that our favorite movie from the Summer: Despicable Me 3 is now available on Blu-ray & DVD! We are big fans of all the Despicable Me movies. They’re the kind of movies that entertain both kids and adults which is always a bonus. We especially loved all the throwbacks to the 1980s in this one…gotta love the 80s!

We thought it would be fun to pack up a fun Minions lunch perfect for the holidays, with Minion Santas!

Here’s what you need to make a festive Santa Minion lunch like this:

-bananas
-strawberries
-popcorn
-sugar snap peas
-cherry tomatoes
-cold cut ham
-sliced white cheese, like Muenster or Swiss
-crackers, your choice
-edible candy eyes
-fruit by the foot (only one roll needed for this)
-small star shaped cookie cutter

Directions:
1. With the star shaped cookie cutter OR …you could also make a small star template and use a sharp pairing knife… cut out layers of the ham and cheese into star shapes. Layer the ham and cheese on crackers.

2. Cut the sugar snap peas in half in the shape of a Christmas tree and lay them on top of a small bed of cherry tomatoes. Add star shaped ham and cheese for a star on the tree.

3. Cut a banana in half. Poke a tooth pick into the top of each cut end. Cut the green ends off of two strawberries and push the cut side of the strawberries onto the tooth pick of the tops of the bananas to keep the bananas and the strawberries together. The strawberry on top is to look like a Santa Hat. Lay the bananas onto a bed of popped popcorn. Add a few small pieces of popcorn to look like the white rim of the Santa hat all around where the bananas and the strawberries comes together. Cut sections of one roll of fruit by the foot to look like a little Santa Claus outfit. Also cut strips of the fruit by the foot for the eyes to lay and little smirky smiles.
