Who doesn’t love a good steak? Turn steak into this easy, delicious appetizer that everyone will love.
Everyone loves steak, and this recipe turns steak or prime rib into a bitesize appetizer that is full of flavor. A garlic butter coats the steak and everything is done in one pan, how about that for easy clean up? This appetizer is fancy yet perfect for game day.
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 ½ pound ribeye steak cut into bite size pieces, or strip loin, tenderloin, strip steak or sirloin steak
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons salted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon parsley fresh, chopped
How to make Steak Bites with garlic butter:
- Add the olive oil to a large skillet and turn it up to medium high heat. Making sure the olive oil is very hot.
- Add the steak pieces to the pan. Season the pieces generously with salt and pepper.
- Cook the steak for at least 2 minutes before stirring the steak pieces. You want to make sure you get a good sear on them. Continue cooking for another 2 minutes until they’re golden brown. If your skillet is not large enough, add the steak pieces in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan.
- Move the steak bites to a plate to rest for a few minutes.
- In the same skillet add the butter. Turn the heat down to a medium heat.
- When the butter has melted, add the minced garlic. Cook for about 30 seconds while stirring, just until the garlic becomes fragrant and starts to brown.
- Pour the garlic butter over the steak bites and toss well. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley and serve warm.
- We love to serve with homemade horseradish sauce and toothpicks to dip into the sauce.
Variations:
- If you ever have leftover prime rib, make steak bites! Prime Rib is most always cooked to rare or to medium rare, so these steak bites are a great way to take your leftovers and turn them into an easy appetizer.
- Turn up the heat: add 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes to the garlic butter to add a little heat to the sauce.
- Serve with a variety of dipping sauces for a fun flavor filled way to serve these little bites.

Is my pan hot enough to sear the Steak Bites?
There are a couple ways to tell if your pan is hot enough to get a good sear on your meat. You will want to preheat your pan on medium high heat for about 5 minutes. Move your hand over the pan, if you feel heat it’s ready. You can also lift your pan and tilt it back and forth, look at the oil, if it moves quickly like water, it’s ready.
